A holiday of surrounded by passion, speed and engines

The amazing landscape, cultural heritage and wine and food specialities make the Emilia Romagna region one of the most popular with tourists. In fact tourism is one of the region’s leading resources as its inborn natural hospitality and earnest tourism drive are clearly felt in the vast range of holiday packages: versatile proposals that are ideal for all ages in a land of numerous venues for the young, and excellently designed structures for children and families.

Apart from being a region steeped in history, art, culture and wonderful natural panoramas, Emilia Romagna is also without doubt the homeland of Italian motors. Every year thousands of visitors flood there drawn by its dedication to engines, as some of the leading car and motorcycle manufacturers in Italy established their headquarters among these beautiful plains and hills, and helped make the Italian name famous around the world. History and traditions that are founded back in the early part of the 20th century when the farming sector was first mechanized, which led to an ongoing and significant development that generated the historic mechanical enterprises that soon took on an international size and value, writing unforgettable pages of engine history.

Consequently this central Italian region is a sought after destination for all engine-heads, knowing they will find a unique universe dedicated to the mythical figures of Italian engines and multiple attractions all within a relatively small area. Legendary names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and for motorbike lovers, Ducati and Morini, the famous race circuits at Imola and Misano, the car and motorcycle museums, numerous racing and karting tracks, added to the valuable and unique private collections that are open to the public – these are just a few of the range of attractions the region offers. There is also a wide range of events dedicated to publicizing new technology, like the Motor Show, and to the rediscovery of vintage cars and motorbikes. International sports events and test tracks where anyone can try out their passion and experience unique sensations to the soundtrack of the roaring engines of our dreams.

Some of the major sites of interests should be mentioned in Emilia Romagna. For example the two museums dedicated to the most loved redhead in Italy: Ferrari, with the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena and the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, which not only exhibits the numerous models of the mythical historic rampant horse but also gives the public the chance to visit a real reproduction of a Formula 1 pit. The excellent productions from the two historic Maserati and Lamborghini names are celebrated in two museums: the Umberto Panini Museum in Modena and the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum in Funo di Argelato in the province of Bologna. In these locations visitors can observe and relive the history of a very important part of Italian car heritage. For motorbike lovers, a visit to Borgo Panigale is a must where the region’s throbbing motorcycle heart continues to beat. It is the home of the Ducati Museum where vintage and new Ducati models can be admired, and with sections where the workings and dynamics of the engines can be investigated that wrote the history of one of the most famous motorcycle brands in the world.

Apart from the locations we have already mentioned, Emilia Romagna also houses numerous clubs and stables with 188 racing teams, 4 car race tracks, 11 karting tracks, 13 museums and 12 private collections to reaffirm the intense concentration of activities and sites that revolve around the “universe of engines”.

A dream holiday therefore in a land where the passion for vintage cars, sports and fast engines is united with beautiful landscapes, delicious wine and food specialities and truly great, professional hospitality that is offered in the vast range of holiday campsites and villages.
