Experience the Veneto: wellness, fun and culture.
18.01.2016
The Veneto is one of the most popular Italian regions with tourists. Loved by Italian and foreign tourists alike, the Veneto stands out for the breadth of tourist proposals and its excellent hospitality facilities. The region has the ideal solutions for any type of tourist thanks to the exceptional and varied morphology of the area, attracting visitors who can pursue their desires for a holiday by the sea, the lakes or in the mountains, either relaxing and being pampered, or a fun-filled energetic sporting holiday, or alternatively visiting the many beautiful cities of art rich in history and culture.

For lovers of the sea and sun, the Veneto coastline along the Adriatic offers beautiful wide beaches of fine golden sand and crystalline waters. Excellent beach facilities and the beautiful sea are the ideal choice to relax or try some water sports, like windsurf, sailing and scuba diving. Resorts like Bibione, Caorle, Eraclea Mare, Jesolo, Cavallino-Treporti, Sottomarina and Lido di Venezia were all awarded in 2014 with the Blue Flag, to testify the validity and quality of their facilities and their uncontaminated sea.

Likewise there are some beautiful lakes to attract you to the region. The most famous is without doubt Lake Garda set in a unique and fascinating landscape. Around the lake there are numerous natural sites, resorts and villages to visit with their magical atmosphere, where you can discover the Veneto culture with the popular events, crafts and typical produce. The wide range of hospitality choices mean your stay is pleasant no matter what you choose, and you can also try your hand at a number of different sports on the lake. There are then many other small beautiful lakes in the region surrounded by the luxuriant nature, like Lake Santa Croce, Lake Mis, Lake Revine, Lake Agordino, Lake Corlo and Lake Cadore.

There are also the breathtakingly beautiful mountains of the Dolomites and other Veneto ranges, where enthusiasts will find uncontaminated nature and charmingly magical hamlets and mountain landscapes, ideal for a relaxing holiday discovering these amazing natural panoramas. These areas range from the lower peaks of the pre-alpine range to the high peaks of the Dolomites and have been declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site, dense in history and traditions with excellent hospitality facilities at any time of the year.

What about the many spa centres in the region, where you can dedicate your holiday to your health and wellbeing. In fact, the Veneto is one of the leading European regions in this field, with highly specialized, cutting edge facilities in terms of therapy and beauty treatments. The most important are the Euganean Spa towns near Padua, then Recoaro Terme and Caldiero, and recently a centre was also opened in Bibione, just a short walk from the sea.

One of the main distinguishing features of the region is all the art cities, offering a concrete expression of the Veneto’s cultural heritage with their extremely precious historic and artistic value. Three of the cities are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list: Venice, Verona and Vicenza, considered of exceptional universal architectural and artistic value. There are also the magnificent cities of Padua, Treviso, Rovigo and Belluno which fully represent all the regional cultural and historic nature. Throughout the year many initiatives and events are organised in the region: fairs, fetes, markets and cultural events to express and demonstrate all the Veneto traditions.

So to sum up, the Veneto is the ideal region for any type of holiday given the numerous opportunities and hospitality facilities, with campsites and holiday villages that are excellent examples of the national open air tourism scenario.
